Around the Town

Laurie has been walking around Americus taking some pictures. She likes it here, and agrees that it is a cute town with more to do than we thought there would be.

This is one of the two main one-way streets running through downtown. Notice the absence of horses and buggies.

This is the historic Windsor Hotel, where I stayed when I came down to interview.

More downtown buildings. The architecture is well preserved and interesting.

A house in the historic district.

Another beautiful home.

Well, I had better get to work. Take care one and all!

Is that a clear blue sky I see in those pictures? I almost forget what it looks like. With all this cold, wet, snowy weather we have, it's amazing that we even remember what the sun looks like. But then, you don't have to worry about that any more with all that warm sunshine. :o)
Take care my friends.

Yeah, I wish I could send a little sunshine your way, but since I can't, remember that our door is always open to family and friends to come for a visit! It looks like we are getting the 3 bedroom house by the college, so we will have plenty of room. Ya'll come now-y'hear!

The brightest spot in our Michiana day will be the shots of "winter" in Americus. We think of you often and wonder what it is like to be at Habitat ground zero. Little bits of Texas each day...an email from Jeff McPherson, mailing Jim Tierney's jacket to him, writing to ask Debbie Bishop for her recipe for beaten biscuits so we can try to make them for a Texas Remembered dinner here some day.

There is a full bath, and a half bath, and lots of bushes in the back yard

2/14 What a charming little town! Thanks for sharing those pictures.
As for my own pictures, I checked and they seem to show up fine. Let me know if you still can't see them and I'll try to figure out what's going on...
By the way, happy valentine's day!

How are things going these days?
Did you enjoy Lauries visit?
You're missing out on a lot of fun (yea, right!) at my house.
We are stripping the floor upstairs and refinishing it.
We have got the living room done. It looks pretty nice. We stained it a litte darker than it was. On to the dining room now! Fun, fun!
Have a great day.
