Del Mar Thoroughbred Club

While in LA last week, we visited Jennifer Daley down in San Diego. She and her friend Preston and his son Aaron invited us to go with them to the Del Mar Horse Track. It was our first time at the races, and we had a blast "where the turf meets the surf".





Here I am studying the next race. I liked the name of a horse called "Fighting City Hall', so I put $2.00 on him to win. . .And they're off!!!

Can you tell from these two faces whose horse won?? Preston bet $2.00 on an exacta bet meaning you predict which 2 horses will come in 1st and 2nd, in order, and he got it! His $2.00 bet paid over $94.00!!!!!

I did pick this horse to "show" in the next race, meaning he could come in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, and he won the race! My $2.00 bet paid a little over $6.00. I picked him because I liked his colors (Go Colts!). It paid so low because he was a favorite to win so the odds were really low.

We capped off the evening with great Mexican food and Marguritas as big as your head! That's Aaron in the background. . .he's a cutie.
