Smokey Mountain Memories

About 10 days before the Jimmy Carter Work Project, we went to the Smokey Mountains with friends. Specifically, we rented a cabin in Sevierville, which is near Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The mountains were beautiful, and the company was great, but the towns were congested and touristy. We had a wonderful time hiking, eating, playing pool and hanging out in the hot tub. This is a view of the mountains, and how they got their name

The Appalachian Trail runs through the Smokeys, and we hiked a section of it that took us from North Carolina to Tennessee

Our good friends Curt and Sherry

We had an awesome time and it was a much needed break before the build event.
We are hosting Mallory and Nathaniel this week in LA, and will share news and photos soon.

Lynn is in Mishawaka for 3 weeks, we both enjoyed your latest Blog. The messages are great and the pictures beautiful.---Gee, what a surprise that National & Mallori will be with you today.
Lynn & I saw Gail & family yesterday. We had never seen any of the little girls. Rachel is just starting to walk. Lindsey & Sarah Kate colored pictures for us to take home. Rachel looks a lot like Gail. From Aunt Ann.
P.S. Ryin & Aden call me aunt aunt. I don't think they catch the Ann in my name.
