A Day at the Beach

It was a gorgeous day today in LA. Clear, sunshine and in the low 90's. Laurie and I spent the afternoon at the beach. We went to a hole in the wall Carribean restaurant called Cha-Cha Chicken that is located just a couple blocks from the beach between Venice and Santa Monica. Outdoor dining in an authentic, rustic island setting and unbelievably good jerk chicken, rice and black beans, fried plantains, etc.
After lunch we walked down to the beach and soaked up some sun. After sitting and reading and people watching, we took a long walk in the surf, and then cut up to the strand to walk back. A few photos are below

This is the Santa Monica Pier in the distance, complete with shops, restaurants, a ferris wheel and even a roller coaster-on the pier!
This is a closer look from down at the surf

This is a short video we shot while walking on the strand. The water is to the left, we are on the pedestrian walk, and anything with wheels runs on the right.

The Boys

Not much explanation needed here. Our good friend Sherry Kent sent these photos of our grandsons Ryin and Adan. We really miss them.

More to come soon!
